Enough already!

We all have them.  People who tell us we are not doing enough—some times it’s our boss, our teacher, our parents, our child, our spouse, our friend, or even our pastor who prods and rides us to no end.

There are people who consider it their God-given mission to push the rest of us around.  They cannot stop reminding us of the little we do and how much more we need to do.  It’s never enough of either for these people-pushers.  According to these do-gooders, the only thing we do enough of is the wrong thing—and of course, we do too much of that.

I say it’s time to tell the Enough Police—Enough already!

I got to thinking about it today and I couldn’t help but think about my Heavenly Father who sent his one and only Son as a holy substitute to suffer and die in my place so that the little I do—wouldn’t have to be enough.

Thanks be to God.

I knew it wasn’t.

26-28 So now we have a high priest who perfectly fits our needs: completely holy, uncompromised by sin, with authority extending as high as God’s presence in heaven itself. Unlike the other high priests, he doesn’t have to offer sacrifices for his own sins every day before he can get around to us and our sins. He’s done it, once and for all: offered up himself as the sacrifice. The law appoints as high priests men who are never able to get the job done right. But this intervening command of God, which came later, appoints the Son, who is absolutely, eternally perfect.   -Hebrews 7:26-28

It’s time I tune out the people who tell me I must jump through some more hoops.

Maybe you needed the reminding too.

Enough, I agree. Another good post.

Absolutely needed the reminder. (Could probably use it daily!)

    Thank you!

I agree! So many of us have a tendency to go around trying to pull a sliver out when we have a chunk of our own! I am sure you are familiar with the scripture I am referring to. (Matthew 7:3) It’s important for us to remember to focus on our own issues and not everyone around us.
